Stephenson County takes part in new study

Stephenson County is participating in a new regional study that will hopefully shed more light on the local business community and help officials create a new marketing plan for attracting companies, said David Young, executive director of the Northwest Illinois Development Alliance.

Thanks to a partnership with the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Stephenson County has now acquired a military-style Humvee that can be used as a rescue vehicle during severe flooding and snow events.

After a one-year hiatus, a popular Boy Scout event will once again bring hundreds of scouts and scouters to Stephenson County Illinois and Green County Wisconsin during the weekend of June 8 – 10, 2012. The Harry Espenscheid Tour de Blackhawk debuted in 2010 as a part of the Boy Scouts of America’s 100th Anniversary of scouting in America.
